The TWGSS Careers Expo cum Emerald 55th Anniversary Kick-of Ceremony started with a ribbon-cutting ceremony to signify the kick-off of a series of Emerald 55th Anniversary celebrations, followed by an inspiring speech on the keys to success in the workplace given by the Guest of Honour, Ms HUNG Yin, Alice, an alumna of TWGSS. Afterwards, 118 alumni, representatives of Classes from 1966 to 2015, stuck the house logos, with their signatures on them, on the two trees symbolizing our school in the session ‘Alumni Heart-to-Heart’.
In the Mentorship Session, 80 alumni who had volunteered to be mentors held a meeting with their charges, S4 to S6 students. Afterwards, there were two Alumni Sharing Sessions, during which the alumni from different professions, including medicine, nursing, physiotherapy, radiography, speech therapy, surveying, property management, architecture, civil service, marketing, finance, human resources management, investment banking, accounting, law, education, translation, social work and information technology, shared their experience of work with the S4 to S6 students. The sharing sessions were well received and our students got an inside look at professions they were interested in, and practical tips on how to overcome obstacles to their chosen careers.
