The workshops titled 'Scaffolding Students’ Self-directed Learning with Plagiarism-free Inquiry Learning, Social Media, and Learning Analytics' and 'Flipped Classroom in Secondary Schools’ were held on 12 April 2016. This event was supported by the Education Bureau, the Faculty of Education, HKU, the Hong Kong Teacher-Librarians’ Association and the International College of Management, Sydney.
In these workshops, our Assistant Principal, Mr CHIN Yiu-ming first shared his opinions on the inadequacies in traditional learning and teaching practice while Ms CHAN Wai-yin, Mr TONG Tak-shing and Mr LI Man-ching, Manson shared their experience in using PBworks and Schoology in Liberal Studies. Ms WONG Sau-yee, Margaret and Ms LEUNG Mei-lee also illustrated how to educate students to avoid plagiarism by using IT tools such as online citation machines and plagiarism checker. Last but not least, Mr LEONG Wa-son shared how he guided his students to work cooperatively using PBworks for the ‘Inspiring TWGSS Award’ project. All participants enjoyed the sharing and had a fruitful afternoon.
