The “Schools Recycle Week” (Campaign for Collecting unused electrical and electronic products)project was launched by the Environmental Protection Department (EPD) to encourage Hong Kong citizens to reduce waste by handing in their used computers and accessories, electronic products and electrical appliances for recycling.
Taking “Reduce Waste at the Source” as the main theme of its year-round programme, the Environmental Education Team strongly supported the EPD project and organized the collection campaign in the period 21-23 October 2014 to encourage school members to participate in the waste reduction campaign. Though few used electrical and electronic items were collected, the campaign helped arouse awareness among our students of recycling and waste reduction.
