The Workshop on “Developing 21st Century Skills with Plagiarism-free Inquiry Learning using Wiki, Citation and Originality Check Software” was held on 11 April 2015 at the Lecture Theatre of Cyberport, Hong Kong. This event was supported by the Education Bureau, the Faculty of Education, HKU and the Hong Kong Teacher-Librarians’ Association.
An online citation machinewhich helpedstudents tocitesources properlyand softwarethat helpedstudents to avoid plagiarism in their workwere introduced.
Besides the opportunity for hands-on experience with the online software, our Assistant Principal, Mr CHIN Yiu-ming, Ms WU Lai-wan, Ms WONG Sau-yee, Mr KAM Hon-kit and Ms LEUNG Mei-lee sharedtheir experience ofteaching students about applying these tools in various subjects (Liberal Studies, English, Integrated Science and others). The teachers also sharedhow Assessment for, as, and of Learning couldbe applied through this mode of teaching.All participants enjoyed the activities and had a fruitful afternoon.
