Tsuen Wan Government Secondary School’s 50th Annual Sports Day was successfully held on 9 & 14 March 2018 at Shing Mun Valley Sports Ground. The opening ceremony was led by our school core members from the Sports Association, Red Cross, Scotts and houses’ athletic representatives. Our principal - Ms Tang Suk-ching declared the opening followed by the starting shot for the first event.
Four houses competed for the excellent in performance for both athletics and cheering. The atmosphere was great with good spirit from athletes and countless supportive voices from house supporters. Although the weather was unstable for the final, it didn’t stop our good run at all. Plum House was awarded the best cheering team with their impressive performance. Individual champions were awarded to the following students for their outstanding performance: Boys’ A Grade: 5D YEE Pak-lam Czeven, Boys’ B Grade: 3D HO Chun-cheong, Boys’ C Grade: CHEUNG Ho-yeung; Girls’ A Grade: 5B LAU Kwan-kiu & 5C LAI Yin-yu Isis, Girls’ B Grade: 4C CHEUNG Wing-kei Belle, Girls’ C Grade: 2C FONG Tsz-yan.
At last, Ms LEUNG Ka-man, who is a 1986 Alumna and Vice-Chairperson of Parents-Teachers’ Association, was invited to give her inspirational speech and present prizes for our athletes. She encouraged our students to enjoy our diverse learning environment with freedom. The school song and lowering of school flag marked the end of the sports day.
