"Brahms Black Box" Discover Series: "Get to Know Brahms” School Tour

Presented by the SingFest, "Brahms Black Box" Discover Series: "Get to Know Brahms" School Tour is one of the programmes of the "Choral Black Box" project, which aims to deepen students and young audiences' understanding of Brahms, the composer in the romantic period, and his works. Brahms is a prolific composer with a wide range of repertoire, especially art songs which include 60 choral pieces. As a virtuoso pianist, his piano works also attracted much attention and made him one of the most influential piano composers of all time.

In this one-hour school tour, SingFest invited radio host and music educator Calvin Lai as speaker. Led by Music Director Dominic Lam, singers Kenix Tsang, Dominique Chan, Carmel Tse, Sammy Chien, and pianist Alexander Wong, joined together for live music demonstration of eight excerpts from Brahms's works, including Wiegenlied Op.49 No. 4 (Lullaby) and pieces for four-hand piano.
