Conservation DIY

In the Conservation DIY workshop, our students learned about the conservation of ceramics through practicing different processes of the restoration work, such as re-attaching, gap filling and in-painting.  The conservators demonstrated how the conservation of artefacts is a specialism combining science, history and art.  The workshop enhanced students’ understanding of the mission of the Conservation Office, the classification of artefacts and heritage objects, the history of Chinese ceramics and the significance of conservation of artefacts.
