Our efforts in organizing waste reduction and recycling have been recognized and for this we have won the Best Participating School Silver Award for the “Reduce Your Waste and Recycle Your Plastics Campaign” (「減廢回收在校園，塑膠再生變資源」運動). Besides a certificate, we obtained a cash award of $3500.
The award presentation ceremony took place in the Conference Hall of Central Government Offices, Tamar.
Before the ceremony, we attended the “Go Green, Waste Less” Summit. A key-note speech was made by Mrs Carrie Lam (林鄭月娥), Chief Secretary for Administration, about the measures adopted by the government in reducing and treating waste. We learned from the experience sharing sessions of a number of District Councils on their efforts in waste recycling. We were very much inspired by the sharing of Mr Lam Chiu-ying (林超英), Chairman of the Environmental Campaign Committee, and Mr Wong Kam-sing (黃錦星), Secretary for the Environmental Bureau, in the plenary session of the summit. In conclusion, the summit well informed us of the latest developments in waste reduction and recycling and raised our awareness of environmental protection.
