On 24 October 2015, 10 students from S.4 and S.5 participated in the Fu Hong Society Flag Day to raise fund for services for people with intellectual and/or psychiatric disabilities, and autism. After distribution of donation bags in school, volunteers were divided into four groups and began selling flags in Tsuen Wan district. When asked to buy a flag, most passers-by were pleased to do so. Some even bought one without being asked. But some just ignored the students’ appeals.
From this experience, students found that flag-selling is an enjoyable and fulfilling activity. Not only did they learn to communicate with strangers, they also developed perseverance. And the next time they see someone selling flags, they think they will go and buy one from them because they know selling flags is not easy.
