The 65th Anniversary Speech Day cum Opening of the STEAM Lab was held on 22 November 2025, marking a memorable and significant milestone for the school. The programme commenced with the Guest of Honour, Ms LI Mei-sheung, Michelle, GBS, JP, officiating at the opening of the newly established STEAM Lab. To promote STEAM education and foster students’ spirit of innovation and technological exploration, the school has set up this dedicated space, which has undergone several months of renovation and is now ready for use. A mini-drone show was presented by our students to celebrate the occasion, and guests were then invited to tour the STEAM Lab. The entire process was broadcast live to guests, parents, and graduates in the school hall.
The hall ceremony began with the Principal’s Report, during which she highlighted and celebrated the students’ accomplishments. The Guest of Honour, Ms LI Mei-sheung, Michelle, GBS, JP, an alumna and former Permanent Secretary for Education, congratulated all graduates and prize recipients on their accomplishments during the 2024-2025 academic year. Awards and scholarships were presented to graduates and students from S1 to S6 in recognition of their remarkable achievements.
In her address, Ms LI reflected on the shared memories and experiences at TWGSS that had shaped her career, expressing deep gratitude for the education she received at her alma mater. She encouraged students to uphold the school motto, Integritas, which forms the cornerstone of core values that will guide them throughout their lives.
The Speech Day concluded with student performances showcasing their talents in the Chinese Ensemble, String Ensemble, Chinese Dance, English Solo Verse Speaking, and the School Choir. To cap off the occasion, a cake-cutting ceremony was held after the hall ceremony in the covered playground. Photographs were then taken of the Officiating Party, Parents-Teachers’ Association Committee members, Alumni Association Committee members, as well as Principals and Assistant Principals from other schools, alongside the TWGSS teaching staff.
