According to the World Health Organization, adequate intake of fruits and vegetables can reduce the risk of developing heart diseases, stroke and certain cancers. The “Joyful Fruit Day” aims to create a favourable environment in which students are encouraged to eat an adequate amount of fruit every day.
Classes enjoyed fruit with class teachers during the afternoon roll call on that day. Non-class teachers were invited to enjoy fruit together at the Home Economics Room. A fruity origami booth was set up at the school lobby during lunchtime to promote this healthy lifestyle. Students and teachers were invited to fold their choices of fruit origami.
