Astronomy Camp

To arouse students’ interest in astronomy, TWGSS Astronomy Club organized an Astronomy Camp at Pak Tam Chung, Sai Kung from 15 to 16 December 2023 with HOBBYHK. On the night of 15 December, experienced instructors from HOBBYHK gave a seminar on meteor shower, then they led the participants to observe and learn more about the Geminid meteor shower, stars, constellations and planets observable in the night sky through telescopes and binoculars. With good weather, students were amazed by the night sky and beautiful pictures were taken with the help of the instructors. The next morning, instructors led the students to observe the sun and explained the formation of sunspots. Students were excited as they could observe the details of the sun clearly.
