Distinguished Lecture Series on Applications of Mathematics in STEAM world: The Marvelous Interplay of Mathematics and Science in the Hong Kong Observatory

Mathematics is everywhere in our lives and is crucial for various fields. To show how math applies to real-life, a lecture series called "Applications of Mathematics in the STEAM World" was organized. Professor Leung Wing-mo (an alumnus of TWGSS), a renowned meteorologist and former Assistant Director of the Hong Kong Observatory, explained how mathematical modeling was important in practical situations. He used examples from weather, climate, and radiation monitoring to illustrate this.
