The 2024 Hong Kong International Music Education Symposium (HIMES) was organized by the Education Bureau, with Radio Television Hong Kong as the media partner, and was supported by Hong Kong Baptist University, the Education University of Hong Kong and the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts.
HIMES aims to provide a platform for music educators in Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area to exchange and learn. It also provides performance opportunities for primary, secondary, and tertiary students to showcase their musical potential. Our school Chinese Ensemble (76th Hong Kong Schools Music Festival – Chinese Ensemble Champion) is grateful to be invited by EDB as a performing team in this concert.
The opening speech by Dr. CHOI Yuk-lin, JP (Secretary for Education) mentioned music education not only nurtures students’ artistic literacy and temperament, but also stimulates their creativity and imagination and promotes the development of generic skills.
