A Setback Education Workshop was thoughtfully arranged for our S1 students after the First Term Examination in January 2025. It aimed at cultivating setback-resistant ability and happiness quality of the students. Under an affirmative and positive atmosphere, our students gained insightful experiences through accomplishing a wide range of individual challenges and group tasks with the help of the instructors and class teachers. Students practiced persisting and adaptation through challenges. A ‘self-gifting’ session at the end of the workshop allowed our students to reflect on how setbacks could be seen as an experience of growth and boost their happiness and well-being. The workshop was well received. The students agreed that the workshop enhanced their understanding of the factors of achieving success, the meaning and significance of ‘setback’ and ‘failure’, strategies to handle everyday challenges, and the importance of positive mindsets.
