English Week (2024-2025)

From 3 to 7 March, our school buzzed with excitement during English Week, a vibrant celebration of language, creativity, and core values. Each class of students was assigned a specific positive value—such as respect for others, filial piety, and unity—serving as the theme for their video projects. Classes produced captivating stories that showcased their talents in acting, scriptwriting, and film editing, leaving adults astounded by what students accomplished in such a short time. Following the video presentations, students participated in an engaging Mentimeter quiz, testing their general knowledge and English proficiency with 20 language and trivia questions.

For our S3 students, the week featured an interactive drama show titled “David and Goliath”, presented by a professional troupe. Despite being their first performance at TWGSS, the show was a resounding success, with teachers and students invited to join in, adding to the excitement of the climax.

Additionally, engaging English activities took place for S1 to S5 students. In Global Village, captivating game booths were set up, where S1 and S2 students enjoyed conversations with native speakers from five continents, broadening their cultural perspectives. S4 and S5 students participated in Global Dialogue where they had inspiring discussions with tutors from various countries, deepening their understanding of rites of passage and global issues around the world.

The excitement continued on 7 March with a lunchtime Mini-concert performed by nine talented units, who sang their heart out to a full house in the hall. Ending the day was a thrilling spelling bee competition for S1 to S3 students after school, where participants showcased their spelling prowess and expanded their vocabulary in a fun and competitive environment.

English Week was a fantastic success, highlighting our students’ creativity, teamwork, and enthusiasm for learning. We look forward to more events that celebrate our vibrant school community!
