The Road to Success – Alumni Talk Series (2)

On 30 May 2025, we welcomed Mr CHEUNG Kwok-fai, an alumnus from the Class of 1998, as the guest speaker for the Road to Success – Alumni Talk Series. Currently serving as the Executive Director and Division Head of Client Coverage at Standard Chartered Bank’s Corporate and Investment Banking Division, Mr CHEUNG shared valuable lessons drawn from his personal and professional journey.

Mr CHEUNG began by reflecting on his school life and emphasized how embracing failure is essential for growth. Shifting to his professional experiences, he explained the nature of sales and explored how cultural differences influence work styles in Hong Kong compared to the Mainland. Passion, he noted, is a crucial driver for success. His talk also focused on the future of work, especially the rise of artificial intelligence. He discussed how AI is transforming banking and the financial sector, comparing the strengths of human abilities with those of AI.

Mr CHEUNG encouraged students to remain eager to learn, resilient in the face of setbacks and passionate about their pursuits. He also emphasised the importance of self-understanding and a willingness to explore new opportunities.
