The ‘micro:bit Legged Robot’ Fun Day was a 4-hour interactive STEAM learning session that combined technology, mathematics, science, coding, and design, culminating in an exciting competition with participants’ self-built legged robots. This hands-on session aimed to spark students’ interest in STEAM education during the post-examination period. Teachers and tutors guided students step-by-step in building and designing their robots, including decorating their appearance. Working in teams fostered collaboration and allowed each student to contribute creatively. All teams competed, with the winning team being the one whose robot knocked a ball off a stand the fastest. Additionally, an award for creativity was given to the team with the most attractively designed robot. Students enjoyed the fun day and applied their knowledge to solve a real-life challenge.
