As part of the STEM education programme in our school, junior science formed groups to do projects. S.2 students were taught air resistance and centre of gravity in order to build a car that slides down a slope. For S.1 students, they were taught to change potential energy into kinetic energy by making a rubber band car. For both levels, students needed to construct products that could cover the longest distance. After the preliminary competition, two finalists were selected from each class to enter the final competition. In the final competition, S.1 and S.2 students were seated in the covered playground to watch the event and cheered for their classmates. The champions would be awarded the Science Innovation Scholarship. The activities successfully combined knowledge and skills in science and technology. The competitors showed great creativity and all the audience enjoyed watching the competition.
